  Helping Enderlin Area Residents Thrive (HEART)
 

 HEART provides volunteer Services that are Free and confidential to all elders ages 65 and older living in the Enderlin/Sheldon area regardless of ability to pay.  HEART also arranges for fee-for-service providers.

*HEART is part of a network of community organizations working to help elders remain independent and safe in their homes.


*HEART meets with elders, their families and caregivers to evaluate the situation, identify strengths, help make plans to assure health, safety and a high quality of life for elders in their own homes.

 

*HEART provides community-based advocacy, support and referrals to local resources, skilled home health care, volunteers and caregivers respite for elders, their families and caregivers.

 

*HEART is a source for helpful health information and organizes health education, disease prevention and intergenerational activities.

 

*Examples of our services: Newsletter, Transportation, Phone Friends, Friendly Visits, Light Household Chores, Some Simple Household Repairs.   

Two SHIC Counselors join HEART program to offer additional services:

 

Carol Christensen and newly trained counselor Debbie Taylor are now part of the HEART program as a SHIC (Senior Health Insurance Counseling Program) Counselor to assist seniors in our area with carious questions and concerns regarding medical bills, insurance and filing a variety of paperwork.  All services are free and confidential.

HEART relies heavily on a solid core of volunteers who work to build a circle of care around EVERY ELDER in our program.
